Poem – How innocent questions can destroy your brain

How did you buy our house?

She asked from the child seat,

not really looking at me,

Glazing out to the world

As we rolled through traffic

Simplifying I explained;

By borrowing some money

From the bank,

And we pay it back for a long, long time

Pause for thought

How did you get it home?

She responds,

Leaving me to ponder-

Which shops you can buy houses from

And where home is.
