I just finished my first novella, but I am already working on the next book.
Daily writing prompt
Do you spend more time thinking about the future or the past? Why?

Chopsticks was my first full novella, the longest piece of writing I have ever created. It is a multi layered gothic tale of music betrayal and the supernatural. The book was released on Amazon at the start of 2026. I think there is something in my mindset that always wants to move forward. If I am ever reflective on the past it is with the purpose of creating a better future for myself and my family.

To be honest though, as excited as I am about this book being out there, I am am already working on the next one. In fact, I always have several projects in planning at the same time. If you have a writing idea, it must be explored, even if it is just about getting the bare bones down before returning to the original project. I hope to be sending off some short stories, poems and possibly a novel this year, depending on how much time I can dedicate to my work.

A lot will be happening over the course of 2026, some of which I will share. Suffice to say I am looking forward to an extremely interesting year. Now that 2025 is over, and the Winter frosts have arrived, I can see last year for what it was, fixed, frozen and static, memories, both good and bad that can’t be changed. 2026 represents the future, unknown, unfixed and full of opportunity. There really is not much point in looking backwards, that’s not the way you are going.
