What’s something most people don’t understand?

Most people dont understand that there isn’t  a strict formula to writing, there is only the unique way in which you approach it. The structure and approach to words, how you express them, is unique to you familial and cultural upbringing, your education and your outlook on life.

There are  of course, some rules in presentation, and grammatically it is important that you make sense to the reader. But more important is that your writing connects with the reader, or at the very least makes them feel something. Being a good writer I think falls mainly down to consistency. If you do connect with your readership, can you keep doing it and maintain the quality of your output.

One response to “Writing is not a formula”

I really enjoy one particular author (writes ‘southwest Americana’) who is famous with dialogues in one single word or two. Example: I see. or I did. I can close my eyes and visualise the person looking away and responding with conviction. Dee Tezelli, author on Amazon Books and Author Central.
