How do you build loyal subscribers?

Its always a joy to get a new subscribers. The power of the Internet connecting people from across the globe in seconds. Through all my posts, whether it is poetry, short fiction or my HR and people related work I am always working towards the same aim. Connection, resonance and sharing experience.  If you’re a writer, the success comes I think with sharing something that hots home for the reader. Whether you make them laugh or cry the emotional link stays with people, and that makes them want to know more.

I am not the expert on this. Clearly if I was, I would have a lot more subscribers than I do. But my belief is that even a small community has great value and I know from comments and likes that some of you have been reading my work for a long time (thanks guys!).

If you do experience that connection, hold onto it, and let them know. Writers value the feedback more than you realise.

Obviously I can’t pass up the chance given the topic to ask you, if you do one thing today, subscribe to a blog (doesn’t have to be mine). You could make someone’s day and you never know, it might just be the connection you are looking for.

And just because I know dog blogs are popular, here’s a picture of my dog with her teddy, the big soft lump.
